Chris G. Gilbertson, P.E. - Research Engineer / Ph.D. Candidate Mr. Gilbertson is a full-time Research Engineer with the Michigan Tech Concrete Initiative and the Michigan Tech Transportation Institute. He holds a Masters of Science in Civil Engineering and is a licensed professional engineer in the State of California. He has instructed an undergraduate course in construction materials for civil engineering students and currently supervises the activities in the Benedict Laboratory including structural testing and concrete mixing and curing. He also acts as the QC/QA manager for the Center for Structural Durability and supervises the graduate research assistants, assists with research projects, trains researchers, procures research materials, oversees materials/structures testing labs, and manages basic maintenance and calibration of research equipment and instrumentation. Mr. Gilbertson's experimental research interests focus in the field of structural engineering related to cement and concrete. Specific interests include repair and maintenance of the existing bridge infrastructure and Ultra High Performance Concrete (UHPC) material properties and applications. |
